I remember the day that Matt Stone, currently the music director at Sophie in San Diego, asked me to come to their interview with Marc Broussard. I was gonna die. I was gonna get to literally sit face to face with the guy who opened up my musical mind with his music. His first album “Carencro” honestly made my head spin. The first time I heard his song, “Home” I lost it. This guy had blown my mind, and from that day forward, I was gonna belt it out, and not be a scared little songwriter.
His new album has been in my car’s cd player since he handed it to me that day in the studio. His first release on Atlantic is literally one of my favorite records that I own, and gets spun more times than the rest of my album’s combined. This song from the record is called, “Lucky”, and I think that people that are familiar with my music will see why I gravitate to this song. It’s got a mix of great lyrics and cute ones that make you go, “AWWWWE”… But when I first walked into Jeff Berkley’s studio I told him, this is the sound I want, and handed him this song. 😀
Please help me make my own version of this song by backing at http://www.kickstarter.com/projects/joshdamigo/help-josh-damigo-make-a-new-record.
